Single Page Websites in 2018

When you want to convey a simple concept there is little need to try to fill five or six webpages of information. To try to do so can result in the message being watered down. This is where single page websites have their place. Rather than struggling to fill a site with meaningful content a single page can get your message across powerfully but with little fuss.

When you have a lot of content then multiple webpages are the way to go. It would be silly to attempt to stuff all the content in Yacht Charter Guide into a single page.

These sites are however particularly appropriate when you want either a small online presence or if you wish to promote a particular service or product. Take Google Assistant as an example. When they first launched the Assistant they created a single page of information rather than allowing the Assistant to get lost in Google's main site. As the Assistant offering grew they converted this single page into a whole site.

This is where we forsee much of the growth in single page websites coming from, to highlight special offerings from companies. As a yacht charter company your main website might be very established but when you wish to promote a special service or event then a dedicated url that opens a punchy single page gives that offering the attention it deserves. When combined with an email marketing campaign to your subscribers it can be an attention grabbing combo. Are you attending a boat show this year? Is your superyacht attending a show? Make the most of it by having a site such as:

  • festivalcannes.yourcompany.com
  • grandprix.yourcompany.com
  • mipim.yourcompany.com
A targeting approach such as this allows you to style the event to appeal to your target market whilst at the same time only giving them the content they require without distracting them. A sense of urgency can be provided with a countdown to the event, complementary items can be showcased and tickets ordered.

Such pages often end with a call to action in the form of a contact form (if you pardon the pun).
